“Anche un uccello come te (Even a bird like you)” (2026) for two pianos: This quiet work is as much a threnody as a serenade, and as much, in its gentle stillness, a nocturne. Night is an intimate space where the experiences of loss, love, sorrow, longing, and desire intermingle, where sensuality and absence are adjacent, where fear and sweetness increase together with the intensity of darkness. I hear in this music the plain, soft voice of a dear friend speaking to me.
